How do we relate our moral standards of faith to our politics?
That's a question avoided in polite conversation, especially in the church where we are admonished to keep our faith separate from our religion; but the fact is that our moral standards (whatever they are) are derived from our faith and shape our concepts of political legitimacy.
We either make an effort to relate the moral standards of our faith to our politics, or ignore them; and if we ignore them, we do so at our peril.
