On opening day of trout season, Lance takes seven-year-old Brian along on a fishing trip. The two accidentally witness one of Ben's violent acts, and the villainous sheriff decides to shut both of them up for good!

In this modern thriller, a classic battle for good and evil plays out in the mountainous California countryside. Greed, gold, and more inspire dark decisions and brutal actions. When he was elected, Lance vowed to serve the people, but he may end up giving up his life for them in the battle for Madre County's soul.
