Aprašymas
Small-town bookshop owner Piper Page finds a spa therapist dead in a mud bath. Her mother is the prime suspect.
Piper Page owns Books and Brew, a bookstore and café in the small Kansas town of Maplebrook. During the town's annual Wellness Week, her mother, Margie Page, books a mother-daughter spa day at The Muddy Mermaid. The spa's lead aromatherapist, Christina Wells, presses Margie for gossip about her neighbors. Margie loses her temper in front of a room full of witnesses.
An hour later, Piper finds Christina Wells dead in one of the mud baths.
Detective Luke Harper has until Monday morning to file charges, and the evidence points at Margie. The local paper prints her name. Business at the café collapses. Then someone picks the café lock, destroys Piper's espresso machine, and leaves a note telling her to stop asking questions.
Piper is an amateur sleuth with no training, forty-eight hours, and three partners: Lottie Jenkins, a seventy-four-year-old retired librarian who has read every mystery ever written; Zoe Palmer, who owns the art gallery next door; and Jazz, the shop's tuxedo cat, who has already caught the killer's scent. They call themselves the Murder Mystery Book Club.
Every employee at the spa is hiding something. So is at least one member of the town council. And the person who killed Christina Wells is still working in Maplebrook.
