"The Bear" is about a Yosemite Park Ranger, Mike Murphy who enjoys the outdoors and everything in it. A ranger's duties include but are not limited to, greeting visitors, trail maintenance, visitor safety, first-aid, search and rescue operations and animal emergencies. In the park, bears become acclimated to eating human food and sometimes will go to great lengths to get it, including breaking vehicle windows. Interactions between park guests and bears are an everyday occurrence except during the winter months when bears hibernate. In the history of Yosemite Park there has never been a fatal accident between bears and guests.
