Micro-finance influences the quality of life daily and is considered a powerful instrument for positive socio-economic changes in modern society. It refers to the entire range of financial and non-financial services including skill upgradation and entrepreneurial development, rendered to rural poor for enabling them to overcome poverty. The Indian micro-finance is dominated by self-help groups and their linkages to banks.
