In a world of precarious floating islands threatened by violent storms, Mickey Mouse is a master rope-maker tasked with keeping these fragile lands anchored. Overworked and alone, he buries his grief over the loss of his friend Goofy - until he is forced to confront the tyrannical Lord Phantom, who steals land from the poorest to increase his power. To stop him, Mickey must reconnect with Minnie Mouse, now obsessed with finding a mythical continent, and form an uneasy alliance with Peg-Leg Pete, leader of a guild with questionable motives...
