This is the Tale of Bienkie and Mienkie. Two little mice who live with Father mouse and Mother mouse under the station. It was during the war and food was getting scarce. Father mouse decided to take his little mice family to relatives on the farm. Food was getting scarce and it was becoming dangerous living under the station in town. Many of their friends had already left for the safety of the country and many more would be leaving soon. Bienkie and Mienkie decided to go and say goodbye to their friends as they would be leaving early the following day. Father mouse also left their little home to go and play cards with his friends. Mother mouse was glad to see them go. Now she could do the packing in peace. The next day they left very early. Father mouse warned them about the dangers on the farm. Especially the big farm cats.
