Meteorology is the scientific study of atmospheric phenomena, occurring in the lower stratosphere and troposphere. It also encompasses the study of weather. An important area of meteorological studies is the observation, understanding and forecasting of weather. Some of the focus areas of meteorology are climate modeling, climate change, remote sensing and air quality. Atmospheric parameters are measured using radar, weather balloons, satellites and buoys.
