His popular story collections include Uncle Ko Wish Nahi Karoge and 21 Shreshtha Kahaniyan. His poetry books like Ek Aur Prarthana and Chhutata Hua Ghar are also well-regarded. He authored the first comprehensive history of Hindi children's literature-Hindi Bal Sahitya Ka Itihas-and other critical works. Many of his books are translated into various Indian languages.
