In Man: The Dwelling Place of God, Tozer explains what it really means to have Christ in us, including letting go of the past, studying the Bible, making moral decisions, adoring God for Who He Is, participating in Christian community, and more. The dwelling place of the Triune God is at the subconscious core of the human being. Only Christ can enter because it is such a private, intimate space, and even He will only do so in response to a faith-based invitation. Man becomes a true child of God after the Spirit takes up residence in the centre of the believer's heart. But unless God has fully invaded the soul, nothing one does-including baptism, confirmation, partaking in the sacraments, church membership, etc.-means anything.
