Many Ages have passed since Yavros, the Grand Master of all Eternity, established his physical realm of Eddren and created terran spirits in facsimile of himself.In Book 1 of Lucifer's Story, the angel Lucifer, who refused to serve the terran spirits, has long-since been exiled in Hellion, but manages to find his way into Eddren and systematically usurps the free will gifted to the terran spirits by Yavros.Throughout the millennia that follow, Lucifer consistently wreaks havoc within the physical realm. Miekaale, the captain of Yavros' guard in Eternity, responds instantly when called upon to return Lucifer to Hellion - but it is not Miekaale's role to detain him there.In Book 2 of this evocative story, Yavros further attempts to control Lucifer and protect his precious terran spirits. He feels an urgent need to re-establish his connection with them before it's too late; sending angel emissaries to educate them, and even entering Eddren himself to live as a terran spirit. Yet Lucifer is irrepressible in his sense of vengeance. His tricks evolve into ever more sinister acts, culminating in such destruction that he sees himself as the equal of Yavros.Just when Yavros is on the verge of admitting defeat, a solution to the problem of Lucifer is offered to the hierarchy in Eternity by an insignificant terran spirit.He casually remarks, "I'm surprised you haven't all thought of it before."
