Aprašymas
A dedicated and enthusiastic worker in the early Christian Science movement, Edward Kimball was prolific in lectures and articles. This compilation of his writings was put together by his wife and daughter and published in 1921 (and again in 1961).
The lectures and articles are focused on explaining aspects of Christian Science to the general public at the time of their writing. These are followed by his addresses to Christian Science audiences who already understood the basic concepts, so he spoke in a bit more depth. The last chapter consists of letters and snippets of letters about Christian Science to his students and friends.
This book is a record of the work of one dedicated Christian Scientist. But Kimball would not have wanted anyone to believe the concepts of Christian Science were original to him. As he said in one of his lectures (referring to the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, and her foundational book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"):
"Although not attempting to use her phraseology or to republish any part of her book it is proper to say that no Christian Scientist does more in making such an explanation than to reproduce in part or to reiterate what she has already written and taught on the subject."
