This book contains selected oil landscapes painted by Fred Hewison. The author is a prolific and skilled painter in oils, whose art will be appreciated for the simplistic and absence of complexity in which they are executed, as is apparent in those illustrated in this book.

They are painted in a traditional manner and most importantly they are true representations of Fred's chosen subjects, which to his chagrin seems to be increasingly less popular as the years go by.

The author has a deep affection for all the impressionists. Their wonderful examples have been responsible for an enthusiasm enhanced by the author's regular reference to all of their beautiful works. There is no denying that they were painted as they saw their subjects and not in a contrived way expected of the artists of that era.
