Landscape is a dynamic field in which social change, political conflict, cultural meaning, and practical intervention become visible. Building on the foundations laid in Volume I, this volume explores current issues in landscape research and demonstrates how landscape theory can inform practical engagement. Topics include multisensory perception, emotion, media, heritage, gender, tourism, colonialism, religion, virtual environments, and artificial intelligence. The volume also addresses practical fields such as sustainability, renewable energy, landscape governance, participation, and the critical assessment of evaluative procedures. In this way, it shows how contemporary landscape research can develop from social constructivist foundations toward a broader sensitivity to plurality, contingency, and the practical consequences of competing landscape interpretations. It therefore also points toward neopragmatist approaches to landscape research.
