Landscape speaks by way of constant change, rooted in process and evolution.

One could say that landscape actively remembers, across timescales from the microscopic to the geological. Yet landscape is also particularly receptive--and generative--to our human narratives, and as such can be a powerful agent of memory.

In this issue, authors from a range of disciplines explore the power of memory in its many dimensions--physical and metaphysical, personal and collective, embodied and ephemeral--and how it lives in and by way of our environments.
