After losing his parents, eleven-year-old Jonty moves to his grandmother's cottage in the countryside. The strange sounds he hears from the garden at night stir his imagination and fill him with curiosity about what could be hiding in the shadows. When his grandmother's friend Jake reveals the sounds come from a mysterious creature called a 'Fuzzypig, ' Jonty's curiosity awakens. The discovery sparks memories of nature walks with his dad, and soon Jonty is watching from his bedroom window at night, determined to see the mysterious creature. When Jonty finds Fuzzy trapped and injured in garden netting, he secretly nurses the creature back to health. But as Fuzzy recovers, Jonty faces his toughest challenge yet: holding on to something he loves or setting it free.
