But it wasn't long before he ran headlong into the hippie culture, drugs, rock festivals, and communes.

All that left only a rage building inside that he could not contain.

It seemed a simple country Bible community had provided the way out for Cohen and his young bride, Gina--but they soon found out she wasn't even permitted to go by her given name. The spartan, country lifestyle seemed to meet their needs--until the man-made rules placed on Cohen and Gina ("Mary") became so suffocating they could not be endured.

The searching continued.
