Isolba of Demoria has mysterious gifts, but must conceal them. As the chief's daughter, she is betrothed to marry into a rival clan. When storms and social unrest plague the isles, the druid priest Baltair chooses Isolba as an honorable sacrifice to appease the angry gods.

Rindan is a young cliff-climber on the neighboring island of Teutatwen. Despite his loyalty to his family, he longs to breach the boundaries of his archipelago to find the lovely lass haunting his dreams. But no one can travel the rough seas-not without supernatural help.

Disguised as a lad, Isolba embarks on a quest to find her betrothed and seek refuge. She crosses paths with a faerie hound, stumbles into the Celtic Otherworld, and is left questioning her reality and purpose. When she arrives on the banks of Teutatwen, she discovers Rindan is no stranger to her soul.
