The hepatic blood flow is provided by 80% of the port vein, which is rich in nutrients and less oxygen and drains from the gastrointestinal tract is done. The terminal branches of these two sources of blood flow in the form of capillary beds, forming the hepatic sinusoids, which drain into the central vein. The central veins join together to form the hepatic vein. Therefore, the liver has two sources of blood supply and one source of output.
