Aprašymas

This book investigates how different forms of extreme nationalism are sustained in contemporary Norway, offering critical insights into the social, relational, and interactional contexts that enable these movements to persist.

Drawing on extensive ethnographic fieldwork, including in-depth interviews with 25 extreme nationalist activists and participant observation at 13 protest events, the book explores how distinct articulations of extreme nationalist ideology, encompassing cultural, ethnic, and 'racial' variants, mobilize activists through the construction of fixed collective (in-group) identities and shared emotions. It illuminates internal and external group-level dynamics within and between movements, examining patterns of collective action, strategic approaches, recruitment methods, organizational structures, leadership styles, and resource mobilization.

This will be of interest to researchers of right-wing extremism, social movements, and Nordic politics.
