Through artwork, essays, interviews and archival imagery, this book invites readers into a journey of awe, curiosity and reflection. Rather than the more outward-facing "exploration," "inploration" can be construed as a venture inward through the cosmos to better understand ourselves and our planet. Inploration unites nearly 100 international artists and thinkers across disciplines--established voices including James Turrell, Lita Albuquerque and Cai Guo-Qiang alongside visionary emerging talents such as Cannupa Hanska Luger, Lia Halloran and Tavares Strachan. Featuring additional contributions from astronauts, ecologists, Indigenous knowledge-holders, space technologists and designers, Inploration is both a cultural time capsule and a call to action. It reveals that the stories we tell about space are, ultimately, stories about our earth--about belonging, stewardship and imagination. At a time when the future feels uncertain, Inploration offers a renewed vision of care, creativity and planetary connection.
