This is an historical tract about the evolution of India and the events within the sub continent since Babur, a descendant of Genghis Khan, swept down from the Khyber Pass with his Mongol hordes in the early part of the 16th century to subjugate virtually all he surveyed until the arrival of the Europeans in the shape of the HEIC in 1612, and its inevitable evolvement into the British Raj in 1858 and the eventual independence of the country in 1947.
