Aprašymas

In 1923, the United States was a very different world. Transcontinental airmail service had just begun, and Time magazine had published its first issue. The first permanent radio network debuted, and was playing the song "Yes, We Have No Bananas." The first nonstop transcontinental flight ran between New York and San Diego, and the first U.S. airship was making its maiden flight. Frigidaire introduced the first self-contained refrigerator, and for the first time, diabetics had access to insulin. Just over a decade before, New Mexico and Arizona had become the nation's newest states. This was the world into which William Wilson was born. More than 90 years later, he tells the stories and shares the pictures that trace his journey from the house in Traverse City, Michigan, where he was born, through his childhood in Detroit during the Great Depression, his service in World War II, his life as an educator and psychologist, his family trials and triumphs, his photographic career, and his life as an elder.
