The purpose of this study was to examine human and other contributing factors involved in airport surface incidents as reported by pilots. Reports submitted to the Aviation Safety Reporting System are a good source of information regarding human performance issues and/or failures that contribute to surface incidents and can be used to supplement the information contained in FAA reports of pilot deviations.
