In this lyrical fable, one morning the sun mysteriously fails to rise, leaving a small town in darkness—and the children without their parents. Undeterred, they wander through the  surreal Nighttime City, alive with neon-lit zoos, mysterious bakeries, and strange creatures, searching for the adults who have vanished.

As their anxiety deepens, a brave girl proposes an audacious idea: if they cannot find the sun, perhaps they must raise it into the sky themselves. But how? To find out, the children set to work —and begin to craft a new dawn.
