Government, in theory, is supposed to provide services that the population is not able to easily supply for themselves. Unfortunately what has happened is that politicians have become so corrupted by the purse strings of corporate America that they are no longer able or willing to serve the people to any great degree. Laws tend to favor the few and ignore the many. This state of affairs has come about because Congresspersons have their own Prime Directive to follow... and that is getting reelected. Fortunately for them, there are so few voters who are paying attention.
