The book is aimed at three different groups of children, each of which is indicated on the back cover. As the cover states, in the five-year study, the two teachers who read this book to students who were having a hard time reading (emergent readers), both teachers reported an amazing 35% to 40% of students mentioned this book to their parents. During parent-teacher conferences, the parents mentioned how their children talked about this book. Neither teacher had ever had such a positive impact from any other book used in their classroom. It is a good read for preschoolers and kindergarteners. For ages 5-7 for students reading on their own. For age 8-12 for emergent readers, giving a chance to believe in themselves. Far too often, struggling students think they are "dumb," and give up in school. Their self-image is so poor they feel there is no benefit gained by trying harder. Hearing the story of Albert Einstein, a terribly poor student, does wonders for their self-esteem and feeling about their future.
