This raw and unvarnished memoir is about the life of Tillie Porter from the age of nine through twenty-three. Tillie is from the streets; she worked as a stripper as well as a shot caller, dealing with people in high places. The book is about the hard times she went through and the lessons she learned in the process of beating the odds and overcoming her past. Some lessons she learned came from older people who taught her a lot about the streets, and they didn't sugarcoat anything. She tells all-the good, the bad, and the ugly. This is a real street book, honest and straightforward, written exactly how she used to speak when she was on the streets.
