After introducing theoretical and methodological aspects of studying home garden culture, scientists and conservationists present case studies of ways in which garden practices in tropical areas contribute to agricultural biodiversity and sustainability. Eyzaguirre and Linares conclude that home gardens play key roles as both cultural and biological spaces.
