Religion has been the pivotal point of most of the conflict we witness around the world. This has created a distortion when it comes to understanding what a religion stands for, and especially when it comes to talking and understanding Hinduism as a religion. Mahatma Gandhi has tried to explain the nuances of Hinduism and why it should not be constrained in the shackles of fanaticism and religious arrogance. He has explained the role of religion in a person's life and how it allows one to become a peace-loving, compassionate and a tolerant person in life. Religion has been one of the most distorted and misinterpreted words in the world and it needs to be understood in the right light, if we want the world to become a better place for humanity to sustain itself.
