Higher Education and Societal Transformation in Africa: Quality Assurance Perspectives makes an original contribution to higher education (HE) scholarship by positioning quality assurance (QA) as a transformative, rather than regulatory, force within African HE, and it proposes context-sensitive frameworks aligned with Africa's development aspirations. It presents a comprehensive exploration of QA and HE transformation in the continent, organised across 22 chapters that progress from foundational concepts to system-level reflection and continental vision; aligning with the African Union's Agenda 2063, specifically addressing aspirations for inclusive growth, people-driven development, strong institutions, ethical innovation, and continental integration, while simultaneously contributing to the SDGs.
