In Egypt, Gohar, Haggag, El Sharkawy and Alalfy (2019) studied the prevalence of asymptomatic bacteriuria among pregnant women in Kasr Al Ainy Hospital. The researchers revealed that, the prevalence of ASB was estimated to be 7.8 %. Another study conducted by Ghazi, Fawzy and Kholeif (2021) to assess the incidence of a symptomatic bacteriuria among pregnant women and the association of ASB and preeclampsia in El Shatby University Hospital. The researchers reported that, the prevalence of ASB in pregnant women was 30%. In Egypt, there are scarce studies focus on the health profile and lifestyle behaviors of pregnant women with asymptomatic bacteriuria. Thus the findings of the current study will contribute to increasing the knowledge to the evidence regarding to the health profile and lifestyle behaviors of pregnant women with asymptomatic bacteriuria and to identify the group that is vulnerable for developing asymptomatic urinary tract infections in the obstetric community so, it will help in developing intervention guidelines to decrease incidence of ASB. Also, these findings will add to the knowledge base and help in early detection, prevention, minimize adverse outcomes and improve quality of care provided by nurses to deal with pregnant women with ASB.
