Sugarcreek is a wonderful place anytime, but especially at Christmas, if you ask Cheryl Miller. And this year is extra special, because her husband, Levi, has been asked to help construct a live nativity set for their church. But tragedy strikes on the very first day when Rudy, the actor playing the angel, falls from the roof of the stable. The police discover that the set was sabotaged, and they arrest Levi, who not only built the stable but has a long-standing feud with Rudy. But Cheryl knows her husband better than anyone and is sure he is being framed. Can she get Levi out of jail and home to their children before Christmas morning?

Meanwhile, Naomi, Cheryl's mother-in-law, has hoped and prayed that her daughter would return home to Sugarcreek. So when Cheryl spots Sarah in town, she wonders if Naomi's prayers have finally been answered. But are Sarah and her husband home to stay? Or could their visit only lead to more heartbreak?
