The Handbook of Divination and Prognostication in China, Part 2: Techniques draws from both primary sources and secondary studies to introduce the functions, methods, and histories of fifteen of the best-known divination techniques in China's past and present. Including works by almost twenty different international scholars, the first fifteen chapters feature each of the following techniques: astrology, meteoromancy, hemerology, calendrical astrology, horoscopy, osteomancy, cleromancy, oneiromancy, portentology and prophecy, zoomancy, physiognomy, topomancy, glyphomancy, spirit-writing, and iatromancy. The final chapter of the handbook introduces the development of mantic games in China.
