Jessie lets everyone believe that she doesn't care what anyone thinks of her. It's easy to do if you keep everyone at arm's length. Most people see her tattoos, piercings, and multi-colored hair and come to their own conclusions about her. Why bother even trying to correct them? It's easier to hide your demons if people don't look past your armor. She has her best friend and a pseudo-brother, she doesn't need anyone else.
