Light and dark are the opposite poles of our fragile and very temporary human existences. The interplay of light and dark seems never-ending, and raises life's biggest questions. Shadows, back alleys, lonely graves, and gloomy barns are everywhere. Is God quietly present despite all, or is God sadly absent, all the reports only baseless rumors? If God is real, present, and alive, wouldn't things be very different than they are? These questions are examined with an optimism that faces all the pessimism of our world with biblical realism
