This introduction proposes a set of benchmarks relating to the geology of the mines that operates them, in order to contribute to the understanding and the management of the possible development of the mineral heritage of a given nation in the general context of these projects and this industry. This limited and highly stereotypical view is that most mining operators have not been prepared to convey the operational utility of mining geology and mining. At the same time, the method of developing a geological map, its practice and its uses in mines and quarries has increased considerably.
