"Palace Retour" is about a man who left home to discover the big, wide world of hotels and restaurants. It's a story with no beginning and no end. Instead, it gathers a colourful collection of impressions, ideas and stories from the real life of a culinary artist. The hero of this tale is Franz W. Faeh, the down-to-earth Saanenland boy who left Gstaad when he was 21, and returned at the age of 55. His journey came full circle when he became Culinary Director at the Gstaad Palace - the very place where he started out as an apprentice chef. This is not a conventional cookbook. Rather than presenting a sequence of traditional recipes, its 200 plus pages offer nourishment for both mind and soul.
