For sixth former Phil Stephens it is seemingly the perfect end to the highs and lows of the school autumn term during which he has almost recovered from an unlikely romance with Motown-loving Lesley Hutchinson, rediscovered his musical roots by joining his friend's blues band, Moonshine, touched shoulders with existential drama in the school production and found his ideal girl; the literature loving, farmer's daughter, Judith Adamson who shares his passion for the rural world of Thomas Hardy and their A-level set text, Tess of the D'Urbervilles.

From the heights of soul to the depths of blues. Through love lost and found, mountains impossible to climb and new highways beckoning. A story of three friends struggling to become the next big thing on the local music scene as they touch shoulders with a singer destined to become one of rock's greatest performers.
