Aprašymas

Before Beowulf, before Arthur, there was Hengest-a warrior bound by oath and haunted by betrayal.

When an enemy from Hengest's past collides with an omen of his future, those he loves most are imperiled. Hengest must choose between his oath lord's life and his marriage, a decision that could shatter every bond he has sworn to keep.

Legends have all but forgotten tragic Queen Hildeburh.

In a world where women are labelled peace-weavers, Hildeburh struggles with violent impulses that seem to follow her bloodline. Yet those impulses call to her as she fights to secure her children's future against the schemes of kings and counselors.

An uprising in Finnsburg thrusts Hildeburh and Hengest into an unexpected alliance, defying oaths, obligations, and fate itself.

When every oath has a price, what will loyalty cost them?
