Finding Hope is a story of a young man with a Tom Sawyer-like knack for getting himself and his friends into trouble. Alcohol and drugs begin to take a toll on him, and eventually take him down a road from which he will spend the rest of his life getting back from. After breaking his neck in a horrific one-car accident following a night of partying, he spent close to an hour in the company of the devil, fearfully waiting for emergency room personnel to bring him back to life.

Eight weeks later he came out of a coma and began an incredible journey from being a quadriplegic to independence. At college, his indomitable spirit made him a campus favorite-from Student Senate to honorary captain of the football team, life went on. Though tragedy befell Jimmy's body, his resilience and determination endured.

Twenty years after his first death experience another car accident almost takes his life permanently. After losing over half of his body's volume of blood, even the attending surgeon recognized the miracle. During his time in paradise, he knew that he had to go back to the world of pain to minister with what he had seen.
