The Old Testament believers serve as examples for us today. Their successes and
failures show us what pleases and displeases God. The writer of Hebrews understood
the value of these examples. In Hebrews 11, he defines faith by showing how real
people (e.g., Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham) proved their loyalty to the Lord. In this
study, we traverse the faith-landscape of Hebrews 11 to learn from the faithful men
and women of old, each lesson emphasizing a particular aspect of their faith. While
anything less than authentic trust in God will disappoint and destroy us, the "faith of
our fathers" allows us to face life this side of eternity with confidence. Do you long
for this kind of faith? If so, then it is fitting that you spend time with your "fathers" and
