In 2012, a Romero film erupted onto the streets of America. The media dubbed the phenomena the 'bath salts zombie apocalypse' and blamed bizarre acts on a new synthetic Cathinone drug.

In current coastal Wilmington, North Carolina, it's back. Authorities assert the cause is a new designer drug, worse than flakka. But something is off. Paramedic and former Army Ranger Matt Gleason learns those bit by 'Zombie-drug users' are forcibly admitted to the hospital. He spies body bags stacked on the hospital loading dock and alerts his former staff sergeant, who calls for a bug-out.

Citizens try to self-evacuate but the National Guard blocks all exits off the peninsula.

Matt's war vet buddies and Marines-turned-cops unite as a unit with civvies in tow to fight their way out as the worst catastrophe in history begins.
