Aprašymas

Remember Erin Brockovich? Meet Cassandra Duncan. When her tap water is laced with asbestos, Cassie will do anything to protect her young sons. She expects Woodstock's town council to do the same. Instead, she runs headlong into politicians more concerned about the cost of replacing the town's crumbling asbestos-cement water pipes--and their own re-election. She faces ruthless lobbyists trying to conceal the high-stakes, political game they played with the scandal-plagued EPA led by Anne Gorsuch. Even her husband, with a large secret to hide, quietly works against her. Will the help from a lawyer in Albany, medical experts in New York City and a whistle-blower in Washington be enough to get the job done? What awful price must she pay? Everyday Enemies is a fictional account based on real events in Woodstock, N.Y., two decades after the famous rock festival. Elsewhere, some 400, miles of asbestos-cement water pipe lay buried in North American cities and towns.
