Aprašymas

From well-known tiger hunter, to slave laborer in Stalin's Arctic camps.... The true story of one man's journey through Red Hell - the Soviet GULAG slave labor camps where millions of people died for the glory and satisfaction of one of history's most evil dictators. Valery Yankovsky is a remarkable man. Soon to be 98 years old, he has long since survived his captors and the worst that the old Soviet system could throw at him. Purpose and an interest in life can do wonders. It simply never occurred to Valery to give up and die, as many did in the GULAGs. Tough to begin with growing up in a family of big-game hunters, he was taken away just before his young wife was to give birth to their first child. He never gave up hope of returning to them. Meet him through this well-told and colorful story, by a natural storyteller.
