It is he, and only he, who endures to the end that will be saved! It is one thing to start well; it is another thing to end well. Inasmuch as it is good to start well, it is better to end well. Many who are first will be last, and the last first (Matt. 19:30). The teaching that once you are saved, you are forever saved is not Biblical, because the Bible, again and again, tells us that it is those who endure and remain in Christ and His Word to the end that will be saved. Speaking of the last days, the Lord Jesus Christ said, "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved" (Matt. 24:12-13). Many people backslide because of what they see in these last days; but it is only those who endure to the end that will be saved.
