Aprašymas
Education and the Culture of Silence offers a comprehensive Freirean reading of power, voice, and liberation in contemporary educational contexts. Building upon Paulo Freire's foundational insights, this monograph argues that the "culture of silence" is not a mere absence of speech but a socially produced condition - a positive achievement of oppressive systems that systematically denies the oppressed subject's capacity to name the world. Drawing upon phenomenology, psychoanalysis, postcolonial theory, and political economy, this work extends Freire's legacy into dialogue with contemporary challenges: algorithmic suppression, authoritarian populism, and the neoliberal transformation of education. It is offered in solidarity with all those who labor to break the culture of silence and build a culture of dialogue, dignity, and liberation.
