Mira lives a wonderful life on the island of Halewei. She loves her friends and family, the beautiful island nature, and her blended Indian and Mexican heritage. Most of all, she loves telling stories.

During the monsoon season, a terrible tsunami changes everything. Soon, Mira must move all the way to New York City, leaving everything from Halewei behind. Struggling to make friends and understand her new world, Mira finds her own way to belong.

About the Publisher - All the Write Colors

All the Write Colors is founded by master writing teacher, Katharine Hsu, M.Ed. Her mission is to build a world of confident kids, one book at a time, through positive and tailored writing classes. Katharine is a former teacher who now teaches private writing classes in the Dallas suburbs. She's developed a teaching approach that effectively brings out children's strengths and supports their learning and emotional needs.

Authors at All the Write Colors are kids ages 8-14 from both homeschool and traditional school settings. Many of our authors are gifted and/or neurodivergent. Some of our authors have ADHD, autism, dyslexia, or dysgraphia, and we don't let that stop them from being published authors. In fact, we show them how they were born to be an author! We use book publishing to help kids believe their ideas and writing style are valued.
