Dreaming of Harvard: A Novelistic Tale is a poignant story of a Mexican American who dreamed of attending Harvard. Searching for the staircase of social mobility, Ernesto Escobedo focused on obtaining a college education. Born in Aztlán, the land of his forefathers, he grew up in Mexican Canyon, a culturally rich barrio. He has never forgotten his humble origins. He was a bright student who was drawn to a world of ideas. But life in a small copper mining town made him come to terms that his dream of attending Harvard might never come to pass.
