Dramatic Mark is, as the subtitle says, St Mark's Gospel arranged for Performance. The gospel is presented in a Prologue, three Acts and an Epilogue, with a brief prelude. An introduction and notes are also provided. Within this framework, the order and content of the canonical gospel are in general followed closely, saving only that wherever possible indirect or implied speech is rendered into direct speech that can be delivered by the characters themselves as a part of the dramatic action.
